Vertically select a column of text in Area Type ?

Hi all!

This may be a very simple question, but how do I select a column of text in an Area Type?

Please see the image attached, how can i only select the numbers?

You perhaps want to use tables? Then maybe consider InDesign.

For better nested formatting consider InDesign as well.
