Working with Text is a pain

I have a file which has lot of text and some art. Making any small changes in the file is slowing the entire document.

This gets so laggy that it becomes really difficult to work with it.

Is there any fix?

which version and system is it? Please tell us your hardware specifiations.

Where is the file stored?

Is this file the only one that acts this way?

Just how many text objects are there?

Do you use font management?

Using AI2023 on windows 10

File is store other than C drive

It happens mostly with files having lot of texts.

There are lot of texts. Making the document very laggy.

No, I don't use font management but I do have approx 5k fonts.
Though the file has only one font used on all the texts.

Is there a specific reason you use Illustrator for documents with lots of text? InDesign is optimized for working with lots of text and would probably be a better choice.

And 5K fonts is sure to slow down your system...
