Color not applying to paragraph style

For years I have used InDesign on a much upgraded MacPro. Last week I changed to a new MacBook Air.

Today I started to use InDesign on the new computer but encountered a glitch:

  • see Screenshot 01, I have a paragraph, that references some research material, which is showing as having a red font;
  • see Screenshot 02, the name of the paragraph style is: "Body Text | Blue  ||   no spacing or indents";
  • the text is supposed to be color blue;
  • see Screenshot 03, in Paragraph Style Options the Character Color is indeed set to blue.

Why is it showing as red ? I tried selecting a different color and then selecting blue again but it still comes up as red.

Thanks in advance for assistance.

Is there a character style applied to it - sometimes other styles can override your current style.

Can you attach a sample document with the problem?

Ah, you got it, Thanks !!

I had not got around to opening the character styles palette...the case that was causing me the problem was not showing "none" as character style but had an incorrect c. style applied. Oddly, I have found that a few other p. styles do not have their correct c. style, which should be "none", but have somehow ended up with the same c. style being applied as in the case I was citing.

Thanks again !!
