Data Merge preview session reset

Is there any way of stopping InDesign from resetting my data merge preview record? Every time I open my document I have to scroll through my list to get to the entry I need.

I don't think so

For such scenarios I setup a secondary file with entries I need in just that database (copy and pasted) 

Then check in test file


If all ok - then open the real file and update

Thanks for the reply.

I have a long list of dates that need inputting into an InDesign file. These dates will need updating in the future so it would be good to just be able to update the data source without going through 500 entries trying to find the right one.

That's what I'm saying setup a test file with 10 entries or 50 entries

Check those

 

If all ok then go ahead with 500
