Date Merge Export - Spreads

Is there a way to export a data merge to PDF as spreads? It’s greyed out when selecting PDF options. I’m exporting to PDF through the Data Merge palette, not File Export PDF.

Not without merging the data to a new file. It has to do with Data Merge PDFs being a "subset" of the regular PDF export, as several items have been nerfed. See this article from my blog for more info:

It see the same behaviour when exporting from data merge, spreads are greyed out.

I am able to create an Indesign document from data merge and then spreads are available during export.
