Exported PDF always white

Question

Hi, saw this post (unsure whether they solved it) https://community.adobe.com/t5/indesign-discussions/cannot-get-background-color-to-export-to-pdf/m-p/12785021#M467554

Think i have the same problem,

I create a new page > I then go to swatches select my colour > then drag a rectangle over my entire page.

A Dark Grey

But when i file > export as pdf, the backround is still white!

I've tried adding new layers, going to pages > selecting C-Parent

Right clicking > send to back, etc

still no joy?

Maybe it's an export setting i'm not doing?

Did you use transparency or a different blending mode than normal?How does the overprint preview look?What attributes did you apply?In the layer panel: Is the name of the layer italic?
