Question

How to center an object/item in the table row

I have created a table and I want to center an item I have (a square to be specific), in the table row. I've only found an option to center the text. I also want that if the table row gets taller, the item centers itself to the center of the table row. Any idea how to do that?

You can do this by anchoring a text frame in the cell, like this.

The text is setup in a rounded frame, with 2 different paragraph styles. The top line uses a paragraph border to create the vertical line and there is a rule below for the horizontal one. Ask me if you want to get the indd file.

You can place any graphic object inside a table cell - the same way as in text outside of the table. Then you can setup a cell to center contents vertically - plus set extra margins if required. Of course would be best if there are no other texts in the same cell.

One idea:

Couldn't you place and link an InDesign page or an exported PDF.

In this case you could do a graphic cell instead of anchoring a group of text frames or whatever to a text cell.

Hi @Adrian Tušar ,

please share a sample InDesign document.

I think, there is a way. Have some ideas, but have to test them on your individual document.
