Question

I have an ongoing InDesign artwork, and cannot "unlock items on page". Tried so many things now...

Hi, I am making a big InDesign dokument – one page but many-many items (in a mandala), and I locked some items in the beginning and now I cannot unlock them...

Besides the point about objects on a Parent page, objects can be on multiple layers as well; if a layer is locked, all objects on it will be inaccessible. I think your solution lies in one or both of these areas (objects on parent page, objects on locked layers).

In line with what James is saying it's often easiest to open the Layers Panel and expand the layers to show the various objects. You can then easily select objects that are behind others very easily by clicking the little box to the right of the object name.

If that objects placed on master/parent page you just need to up them (Ctrl+shift+left click on that objects). 

Remember, never say you can't do something in InDesign, it's always just a question of finding the right workaround to get the job done. © David Blatner
