InDesign 19.* crashing on Windows 10/11

Since version 19, I have encountered numerous stability issues, including crashes. I was unable to upgrade initially, but I discovered that moving the .indd file locally rather than on the network, while still keeping all other links on the network, resolved the problem.

I now work in this manner, and despite all subsequent upgrades (to version 19.3), I no longer experience any issues. I hope my experience can be beneficial to others.

Evidently you didn't read what I wrote with the necessary attention.  If you try maybe you'll learn something...

Looks like your preferences got corrupted during upgrade - or have been corrupted already - but earlier version of InDesign "didn't care".

Try thrashing preferences.
