Question

Left to right splitting paragraph

Why is this splitting with the second paragraph first?

How can I make it split properly, with the ingridients on the left and the instructions on the right?

I can't really tell anything about how you have your page and elements structured. There are several approaches and layout methods to get material side by side in a document. One is to use a 2-column layout and a column break or text-span heading to spread the content into both columns on an item-by-item basis. Another is to use an anchored text frame for one group, usually the smaller one (ingredients) and use paragraph styles, text wrap and anchoring to control the layout.

Both of these are a little involved to try and explain in forum posts; if you can describe your goals and your overall experience level, pointing you to relevant help and tutorial pages would probably be more productive. (And we'd be happy to answer questions and help after you have a basic approach.)

What version number of InDesign? Did you patch up to 19.4?
