link text frames without flow of text

Hi,

I'm linking text frames to get the footnotes numbered continuosly ....however, i dont want the text to flow into each other and change the text layout between pages.

when I'm connecting the text frame in page 10 to the frame in 12, the text jumps up from 12 into frame 10, changing my text layout.

Is there a fix to this?

Your help would be muh appreciated.

Thank you!

You can use styles — shadow styles of those that exixt — with "break to next column" enabled under Keep Options.

That is, you might have Heading 1, and then Heading 1 cb, which has break to column enabled. Create as many of those as you need. They will be identical in all respects (layout, print, TOC, etc.) except for that break feature.

Hard to say if Break to Next Column or Break to Next Frame will work best for you; try both.

This won't stop things from breaking forward to a "next" column, but you should be able to fix those as you go.

'break to next frame' in paragraph styles right? It is working in some instances. I'm getting better control of text flow. Thank you James!
