Question

Lots of issues, mainly with RTL text latest version - 19)

I've just updated to the last version. of indesign (19). There are a lots of issues, mainly with RTL text. For instance, when i put the cursor in a paragraph, when i try to move right/left with the cursor, it jumps to another line,... it's really impossible to work with this version.

Anyone have the same kind of issue? In the previous version, even the latest beta, it work perfectly fine. So it really seems to be a new bug.

Does anyone have any idea how to bypass this issue, as i can't get back to the previous version (via idml), the files got messed up.

Thanks.

Hi @Jojo272173008gc7,

Sorry to hear about the trouble. Please share a few more details like:

-The version of the Operating System.

-Please test this on a new file and see if the issue is reproducible.

-Have you tried resetting preferences? If not, please try that, but before that, please take back-up of the preferences

-If it still happens, please share a small video capturing the issue.

Thanks

@Rishabh_Tiwari

I'm having the same issue as posted here and I see other's are as well

Arrow Key Issues with Cursor Movement in InDesign ... - Adobe Community - 14163844

I've tried this on multiple computers with both old and new files and if RTL Cursor Movement in Prefernces is set to Visual it jumps lines.

Are you not seeing this issue on your end? When the cursor is set to Visual and you press the left arrow it goes to the charachter to the left and doesn't jump lines?

If set to Logical this isn't happening only when set to Visual
