Peach background on copy and pasted text

I have text in a Google doc I need to add to indefinitely doc. But when I copy and paste it into the text box, the text has peach background.

I know pink indicates font not on my computer. So I pasted the text into a plain text textedit document before copying it, yo remove any chance of formatting. But problem persists

Correct answer Willi Adelberger

Apply a correct defined paragraph style without manual overrides to the text.

Did you apply a paragraph style after pasting the text?

Forgot to add, the text box in the indesign doc already has text in it. I'm trying to paste more text from the Google doc into it, but keep the same font formatting etc already in the indesign doc

I'm not 100% sure how to add paragraph styles (if you had a link to a tutorial I'd appreciate it). When I'm back at my mac I'll try selecting the text from last year's indesign doc and see if I somehow did stumble upon a way to add para styles. If not I'll select the old text and assign a para style, then see if the new pasted text can have the same style applied .
