Problem creating buttons to shape from illustrator

Hi all,

I made a solid arc shape in illustrator and copied it into indesign. I need to make it a button and have been changing the appareance of it when you roll over it, but instead of recognising the lines of the shape its created a box around it. So when I roll over an area that the shape isnt, it still picks it up as being the button. Can anyone help with with what I can do to fix this! Thanks 🙂

There's no fix for that. By definition, buttons are inescapably rectangles.

Oh no! Okay thanks for your help anyway. Can you think of any other way I could make the shape change colour when I roll over it?

Not really, certainly not without knowing more about your workflow and your objectives for deployment of the content. In any case, unless your receiving audience is limited and very predictable, you may want to consider that with the proliferation of touch screen devices and functions, rollover effects are nearly obsolete.
