ruler guides are there but hard to see

Hi, everyone.

I can just barely see the guides I drag out from the ruler in InDesign. They are a faint aqua color. I do not see a way to change these in Preferences -> Guides & Pasteboard (screen shot below). As far as I know, these are not "smart guides." Smart Guides is turned off.

Correct answer Diane Burns

Try Layout menu > Ruler Guides. You can change the color there.

Thank you!
I really wonder why there is no complete, indexed, written documentation. All I find is videos and my searches are ineffective.
If it were not for other users I would be lost, and I have been a "power user"* since PageMaker.

There is! Online when you choose 'Help' from the menu 😉

But you can go directly here:

https://helpx.adobe.com/indesign/user-guide.html

Or download the 689 pages PDF here:

Carol, what is your monitor size in inches and pixel count?

Do you have display settings scaled up or down? In ID preferences, do you have interface scaling on or off?

What happens if you play around with either of these settings (in the OS or the app)?

21.5-inch 4096x2304 500 nits brightness, Wide color (P3)

UI Scaling set to Small as advised by some other UI issue, IIRC it was  a problem with grids not showing at all.
I do not have "Scale Cursor" checked.

Will change guide color first per Diane's reply below.
