special character alignment issues in ME

I was using the ME version of InDesign because I have some Urdu projects. I was also using it for my English projects. I'm having a problem with alignment of special characters.

For example, when I type $15.00, it will show as 15.00$. Or 1-5 will be -15. What, typing the quotation mark will give me the French guillemet ( « » ).

I assume this is just a setting somewhere that I've not been able to find. I'm in a predicament because I need to be able to do both languages at the same time, and I don't want to switch versions all the time. Is there any help for this?

I found the fix. Switch to regular paragraph composer instead of world ready.
