Ah! The problem is that there are only two objects in the group. Adding a third allows deletion of any one object.

I was able to delete the rectangle by cutting the group and pasting back onto the page outside the text frame, then selecting the rectangle and deleting it.

That's a pretty complex structure -- grouped image and rectangle anchored into a text frame, and I was able to reproduce the problem in a new file. I'mnot sure why this happens as I was able to change other properties of the rectangle but not delete it, but I think it is because it is grouped and anchored -- can't ungroup it while anchored or delete the image either.

You are right - deleting ONE of the items from TWO item group - would require InDesign to change the structure - it no longer be a Group - but either Rectangle or GraphicLine alone.

Could it be that the anchored frame is covered with anoother frame with no color? Have a look into the layer panel to proof it.

No, there is no problem in selecting it.

It appears to be corrupt. An export/reopen to and from IDML did not help. Delete it and try to rebuild it. Maybe without the unnecessary anchoring.

Thx Mike,
I already try to rebuild (but I need the obj to be anchored in the text frame).
Sometimes works and sometine not.
This is a new document test:
same problem with the left anchored frame but not with the right anchored frame.

sorry for my english.

Something strange ... it can only be deleted AFTER extracting this group from the InLine state...

Are you sure you have it selected? To be sure, look in the layers panel.

Hi Bob,
yes I'm sure.
If I select "Hide" from object menu the object disappear.
But I can delete it.
