Unable to save, save as, or save a copy of the InDesign Files

I am unable to save, save as, or save a copy, of an InDesign file. When pressing any of these options, it brings up an empty window. My software is up to date.

I'm using InDesign 2024 and OS Sonoma 14.2.1

My work is saved to an external HD with over 10TB of space available and 64 GB 2667 MHz DDR4

It won't allow me to save to either the external drive or computer HD. I have opened and tried saving other files and same thing happens - the save window not showing anything.

I have now shut the programme down and restarted it (after losing changes), it is now saving fine. Thank you for responding!!
