When a TOC is updated is it possible to automatically update page numbers referenced in the text?

I have a manual with references to page numbers throughout the text, is it possible when the TOC is updated to automatically update the page numbers in the text? If so, is it possible if there was no TOC in the doc, just page references that update when pages are deleted, added etc?

Psge references in the text should be done as Cross References. You should use them.

    Excellent, never uses cross reference before, works perfectly.
