Question

Why is the stroke not stopping at the end of the table?

Hello

 

I imported some tables from Word into Indesign and created some cell styles and some of them seem to be spilling over from where the table should end. Any ideas on how to make them stop where the table ends?

See if you have a border on the far left column. It could also be that the paragraph style where you pasted the info has an inset. Keep in mind if you're copying a table from Word and pasting the table, a lot of baggage you can't see can come in with it in my experience. 

 

I always create a clean table in Indesign and only copy and paste the data. Sometimes I paste the data in Excel first to make sure someone didn't use spaces and other ways to make it look the way they want.

Tables can be wider than the text frame that contains them. You will have to to resize the table to the width you need.

That's not the issue- made text frame go to the end of the table too

I was able to duplicate this by adding a wide white stroke on the right side of the table, and setting the stroke drawing order to Row Strokes in Front
