Question

Embedded Preview and Develop Module Discrepancy

Hello!

I shoot raw files with film recipes in my Fujifilm xpro2 and I am currently migrating from Lightroom CC to Lightroom Classic.

In Lightroom CC, I could import my raw files with the in-camera settings, using the recipes as a starting point for my edits. In Lightroom Classic, I have set "raw defaults" to "camera settings" and imported some recent shots. However, there is a large discrepancy between the embedded preview––which looks like the in-camera version––and the image in the develop module. I presume that the develop module is showing me the raw image without my film recipes applied, but when I look at the preset and profile settings, it claims that it is showing the in-camera settings.

I would like help to make the develop module resemble the embedded preview.

I am running Lightroom Classic 12.4 on MacOS Monterey 12.6.3. I have attached two images for reference. Thanks!

From further research, it seems like the problem is that Lightroom Classic is able to copy the color profiles of my camera, but the other in-camera settings I use (shadows, highlights, etc.) do not get translated to the raw image seen in the Develop module.

Is there any way to do this? I'm confused because this was a capability in Lightroom CC, but apparently not in Lightroom Classic.

Since both applications use the same embedded version of Camera Raw and share the same colour profiles, there should be no difference between how Lightroom Desktop and Lightroom Classic interpret your images. Therefoe, I think it best that you check that the presets you've created for each application are the same.
