Suddenly the message in the screenshot appears and I did not update the system or Lightroom, everything was the same. So I can not explain what happens!

I use an external HD to keep the catalog and I can not find the CURRENT file to delete, as suggested by the Adobe Help Page, and now I have lost hours of my job, it is the second time in a few months and this is really frustrating!

In addition, you may also want to check the catalog after resetting preferences.

You can do this directly while opening LrC with holding down the Alt/Opt key while starting LrC.

This presents you with the catalog selection, where you can select to check the integrity.

Please try to reset the preferences of Lightroom:

Reset Procedure:

  • Close Lightroom.
  • Hold down [Alt/Opt]+[Shift] while restarting Lightroom.
  • Overwrite the Preferences when prompted by the dialog.
  • Close Lightroom.
  • Restart Lightroom.

It's recommended to backup your preferences before you reset the preferences to the default settings:

You can also try to copy the catalog file to your internal hard drive an try to open it from there.
