Question

Exporting small LR catalog extremely slow

I'm going to try outsourcing my culling for the first time and am trying to export a specific folder from one photo shoot as a catalog (including Smart Previews). It only has 1000 photos in it but it's taken 24 hours and is only about 50% finished.

My catalogs are stored on Dropbox. Is this causing the problem? I don't usually have any problems having them stored there.

Is there a better way of doing this? Would it be better to just give up, create a new catalog and import the photos from the memory card again?

Catalogs should not be stored on DropBox, and yes this could be the problem.

Catalogs should be on local or netword drives, not Cloud drives, a storing catalogs on cloud drives is a frequent cause of catalog corruption.

Importing photos again is never a good solution.

I suspect a typo. Catalogs should not be placed on network drive, NAS drives or Cloud drives.
