Now i dont know if this will hold up...but i just used adobe bridge to convert raw files to dng.  I have always used adobe dng converter, i have plenty if files that only show the dng icon in my mac finder window.  I have just used adobe bridge to convert to dng.  Now this is very new, so i dont know that it will hold up in the future, but right now, the dng's are loading quickly in my finder window and i can actually see the image.  If this holds up, it'll be a long procuess but ill be redoing my images.

Are you aware of the preview options in the DNG converter preferences?

Maybe they have been set to None.

Medium will give you previews that are 1024 pixels on the long side.

I have just used adobe bridge to convert to dng.

Probably best to put this in the Bridge forum or DNG forum (if there is one).

Please provide details on the version of macOS you're using along with the version number of the DNG Converter.

Note that the Adobe DNG Converter should and normnally does create an image thumbnail on the file icon, which can be seen in Finder windows.
