I accidentally erased catalog from desktop, what should I do now?

I accidentally erased catalog from unit C then I recovered it from trash and put it back in place but now it doesn't appear in catalog, I have all my pics saved in a external hard drive but I can't open them what should I do now?

Restore a recent backup copy of your catalog file.

You say you recovered it. What happens if you double-click on it? It can't 'locate' the images or it doesn't open?

Its possible you didn't really recover it or fully. Hopefully you have a back up.
