Is there any way, when doing Import From Catalog, to force LR to import "changed existing photos"?

i am consolidating two catalogs. i am importing one catalog into the other, and I want to import every single photo from this catalog. Its showing me 14161 images in the "Catalog Conents" top box, and below that, "New Photos (14124 photos). Below that, "Changed Existing Photos (37 photos)".

 

I cannot find anywhere in this Import from Catalog window that shows me those 37 photos it deems as "changed existing photos" (whatever that means exactly). Nor can I find any option to tell LR to import those as well. Its literally a black box of information.

 

Does anyone know how I can see these 37 photos that Lightroom suspects are dupes, and how I can force it to import them anyway?

    Changed existing photos do not have to be imported again. Lightroom is a non-destructive editor. The edits are not applied to the pixels of the photo, but stored in the catalog. That means you can import the edits from another catalog without importing the photo itself again. You now chose not to do that. Click on that and you'll see the other options, which are to import them and override the old edits, or to import them and keep the old edits as a virtual copy, if I remember correctly.

    I'm aware of the non-destructive nature of LR. I'm no expert but I've been using the program for 15 years. My issue is the "black box of information", whereas it literally doesn't even tell me WHICH images it suspects are dupes. I've learned that LR's dupe detection cannot be trusted.

    This has nothing to do with the suspected duplicates detection on import. In this case Lightroom knows for sure these are the exact same images. The only difference between the catalogs is their edits, so that is the only thing you need to import from the other catalog. I can't help it that Lightroom does not show which images they are. I can just advise you how to deal with this and explain why you don't need to import the images themselves, which is what I did.
