Keywords missing after importing images from SD card

Question

Using LRC 13.2. I assign one or more keywords during import. After copy and import images two issues occur. One, the keywords assigned are not present. The keyword box is empty. I can assign keywords after import and they show for every image.
Second, the image count in the catalog panel is "0". However, the images show in the grid view.

I'm using Windows 11 on an acer PC. Catalog is on internal SSD drive and all images are on an external HD.

Consider resetting the preference file. This is a file LrC uses for all sorts of things. Yes, one of those things could be the preferences, and resetting may revert those to defaults. But other settings and status are kept in that file. Resetting basically deletes the file and recreates it upon LrC start. The preference file can get corrupted leading to all sorts of bad behavior.
