Hi,

My macbook pro m1Pro keeps crashing and crashes the mac whenever I open the app or when I try exporing images. The export reaches around 80% and crashes. I have more than enough hdd space. I've tried differnet things, but nothing works. Any recommendations?

"SOCD report detected: (AP watchdog expired)"

Possible hard drive issue?

I found that via google, their may be others

And what did the Apple Techs state about that Apple error screen?

Thank you for the response.

There was no clear response, the root cause is still unknown even after full OS reset, deep system analytics. Possible cause is some issues with the logic board, hence, hardware. But then again, the macbook does not crash when using Davinci Resolve and exporting 4k video, but crashes mostly on Lightroom.

When the entire computer crashes, this is almost always either a bad/corrupted/out-of-date driver, or a hardware malfunction somewhere. Since this happens when you export, and exporting is a CPU/GPU intensive operation, it is likely that your computer is overheating and shutting down. Does the computer feel warm or hot when this happens? Try opening the case (if possible) and vaccuuming out all dust and making sure vents are not blocked. Make sure all internal fans (if any) are running.

Thank you for the insight. I have already been to the Apple store and they've inspected and cleaned it, but still the issue persists. No overheating issues observed. It also crashes when just going through image selection process on Lightroom.

If its not overheating, there could still be other possible hardware malfunctions that are causing this.

We’ve reviewed the email address you use with this forum and find no crash reports in our system.

Did you see a crash dialog?

Do you use a different email address when filling out the crash report?

Was the crash dialog Adobe’s?  Apple’s?

The only crash report I get is this one from MacOS. There are no crash reports from Lightroom as it crashes the macbook.

In addition, it also crashes with previous versions of lightroom (13, 12.5, 12)
