Lightroom 13.0.2 error upgrading catalog

When I launce Lightroom Classic it forces me to upgrade my catalog "... in order to access the latest changes in this newer version..."

When I click upgrade, a progress window opens momentarily and then closes to display an error message:  see image.

I've uninstalled and reinstalled lightroom classic from the creative cloud app.   I've restarted my computer.

I'm unable to use lightroom at all until this is resolved - happy to hear any thoughts or ideas.

Thanks.

I got it woking.  For some reason it was trying to use the oldest/original catalog (.lrcat) file.  This file was created many years ago and last modified over 4 years ago.  When I pointed LR to the most recent of the catalog files created only a few weeks ago, the program started right up.  I'm not sure why it suddenly switched to the old file as a default.

Glad you figured it out. This issue occurs at every upgrade, some members wind up with the wrong catalog (missing photos, missing edits) or a new empty catalog, or a failed catalog. Recommendation by most members is by default lo look for a different catalog, and double click on it. The root cause of this has never IMO been explained, my unproven suspicion is a corrupt preference file.

If you have any odd buggy behavior with LrC, you might consider resetting that preference file.
