Sorry if this question has been asked before but I would like further explanation/answer:
Question for the Lightroom Classic SMEs.  I have lightroom classic installed on my laptop. Lightroom Classic Catalog is stored on an external SSD drive (connected via USB-C).  All of my raw photos are stored on Synology NAS DS220J storage connnected to 1GbE network internal to my house.

An adobe tech support individual told me that "NAS storage is not supported".  Answer I'm looking for is, for the above configuration specifically. Is that supported.  If not, please explain to me , technically,  (as I'm a network and IT SME) why it is not.  What is the preferred/supported configuration if you don't support NAS devices?  Only support for locally attached (USB) SSD?

thanks in advance

Scott

Unfortunately, you weren't given accurate information.

Photos can be stored on a NAS but the Lightroom Classic catalog must be on a locally attached non-network drive.
