Question

Lightroom losing aspect ratio -- but not on Secondary display

I updated Lightroom 3 days ago, have never seen this issue before, so it may be related to the new build.    LC Version is 11.4.  Mac OS is 12.4 (also somewhat recent), on an M1 Mac Mini 2020.

When in Library, photos are appearing correctly.   When switching to Develop, the aspect is lost on the primary display.  The aspect ratio on the secondary is fine.

It does not happen on all photos, but certainly 50%.

Any suggestions for a cure -- if it is a local or user specific issue --  are appreciated!

Try purging your Camera Raw cache file.

  1. In Lightroom, choose Lightroom > Preferences > File Handling.
  2. Click Purge Cache under the Camera Raw Cache Settings.

Hi Johan,

Thank you for your suggestion.   I was unable to find Purge Cache unter File Handling; I found it under Performance.   Maybe a change in the new version?

Also - purging the cache did not fix the issue.   When I clicked on the icon, it reacted for a split second, but I did not detect any activity.  I also shut down Lightroom and restarted it, same result.

Thanks again.
