LR Classic 12.0.1 Image Exposures between Develop Module and Library Module are different.

Question

I'm noticing that my exposure adjustments are different switching between develop and library and then they'll change again when I zoom 1:1. It's incredibly frustrating as I'm a wedding photographer trying to move through thousands of images this time of year and I have no idea which to trust. It also only seems to happen with my Leica Q2 DNG files and not my Sony A74 and A73 files. I've reset lightroom preferences, deleted and regenerated all smart and standard previews, etc and nothings seems to fix it. I don't get it.

Welcome to the Lightroom Classic. I'll help you figure this out.

The video helps. Thanks for sharing this. Standard previews in the Library are optimized for viewing & culling large batches of images. When you switch to Develop module, the actual RAW data is rendered. It is common for the standard preview to be different than what you're seeing in the Develop module.

Try this:

With a small batch of images.
In the Library module > On top menu > Library > Preview > Build 1:1 previews

1:1 previews are larger in size and heavy in day-to-day usage compared to Standard size previews. Render 1:1 previews intentionally when you need them. Go to Edit > Catalog Settings > File Handling > set the automatic frequency to discard 1:1 previews.
