LR Classic 13 not importing only some (but not all) photos from Apple Photos

Lightroom  Classic 13 will import some but not all photos from my iMac Photos.  I get an error message that says LR can’t read some of the photos. Photos are all the same jpeg, taken at same time with iPhone. I have Mac OS Sonoma 14.1.1. I have LR Classic 13.0.1. I do not have this problem importing to my Macbook Pro, which has a Ventura OS. I also do not have this problem importing RAW files from my camera’s SD card.

I have spent about four hours this morning chatting with two different Adobe assistants who had no solution. (They both ghosted me.)

I suspect latest version of LR must be incompatible with latest Mac OS.

Is anyone else having this problem?
