Thank you for the quick reply guys! I deleted a plug-in for Premiere that I had called Plural Eyes and oddly enough that resolved the issue. I had read that some plug-ins could effect LrC, like it tries to use them even though it's not the right program for it.

I appreciate your input @Sameer K I wonder then if Plural Eyes was effecting Camera Raw. Either way, deleting Plural Eyes did the trick and it merged the photos no problem. Woohoo! Thank you again everyone

A couple of things I do when I have problems with HDR in LrC to consider as you recover

  • As @JohanElzenga  states, upgrade your video card if you can.
  • Don't have any other apps running when you are running LrC.
  • You didn't say at which point in the HDR process it crashes. Do you get a preview? Try different HDR models.
  • Pass it to PhotoShop and/or just use PS to do the HDR. I've been able to get PS to work when LrC fails with an error in HDR (not a crash)

Your hardware specs are below the minimum for Lightroom Classic 12.1. You need 2GB VRAM minimum. I am not saying that this is definitely the reason for the crashes, but it could well be.

I've checked the crash report you submitted & the Camera Raw plugin is crashing. Try to do a manual clean-up & re-installation of the Camera Raw plug-in.

  • In the Creative Cloud app, press CMD + OPT + T (macOS) to launch Creative Cloud Troubleshooter & select 'Close Creative Cloud and related processes' > click on Go.
  • Go to the following location and rename the specific folder by adding .old at the end of the folder names.
  • macOS: In the Finder, hold down the Option key when using the Go menu > Library > Go to Application Support > Adobe > Camera Raw > Rename as > Camera Raw.old
  • Go to Application Support > Cache > Camera Raw > Rename as > Camera Raw.old
  • Download & install Camera Raw: https://helpx.adobe.com/camera-raw/kb/camera-raw-plug-in-installer.html

Let us know how it goes from here,

Thanks!
