Moved my folder of lightroom files to another folder and my edits are gone

I made a folder on my desktop for one trip called "Dolomites", within this folder i had "RAW", "edited", & "lightroom". I created a new catalog and saved it to the "lightroom" folder. When i was done editing all my photos, I moved the entire "Dolomites" folder to another location on my computer. Now when I go to open the lightroom file, none of my edits are there...what did i do wrong?

Please explain exactly what you did when you said "I created a new catalog and saved it to the "lightroom" folder.". Edits are saved in the catalog, not in the images. So if you are looking at the images in another catalog right now, then that other catalog does not contain the edits you made earlier in the first catalog.

 

BTW: "Missing images" is not the issue. Even missing images still show the edits, exactly because the edits are in the catalog.

    How did you move the folder, from within Lightroom or outside with the Finder?

    Did you start over in Lightroom by reimporting the images?

    Do you understand that all work you do to an image including edits, keywords, and ratings are stored inside the catalog, not out with the images?
