Photoshop Edits not Saving back to LrC from a NAS Drive

I just set up a new Mac Studio and decided to keep all my photos on my NAS device.  Both the NAS and the Mac are connected to my switch via a 10Gb connection and the speed seems to be good.

A weird issue has arose.

When I send a photo from LrC to an external editor (let's use PS as an example right now), it opens in PS, I can make my edits, I close the photo and save it but it never makes it back into the LrC catalog.  It is saved on the disk and I can see it in the finder.  I have to manually import the file into LrC after.

Topaz has bigger issues (though I have a feeling they are related).  In Topaz the photo never actually opens, but weirldly, the newly created TIFF file does show up in the LrC catalog.  Sort of the opposite problem.

Any idea what is going on here?  I feel like there may be permission issues?

Make sure in your macOS preferences/settings you have granted full disk access for Lightroom Classic and Photoshop and other Adobe applications.
