Problem with deleting files from LRC

When I click on images in LRC (not in Collections}, why does LR tell me "Files are on a disc that doesn't support Trash." It gives me the option to permanently erase them anyway, but why is it giving me that message? I appreciate any help.

In addition, the warning is to make you aware that if you proceed there will be no way to recover from the trash folder.
