(Win10 21H2) LR Classic V11.4.1 Import Issue

Lightroom keeps closing when I try import files.

As soon as the import starts, LR flat-out just quits. When re-opening, files that did import, don't show in recent import, but are available in my library.

System details:

Processor AMD Ryzen 9 5900HX with Radeon Graphics 3.30 GHz RTX 3070
Installed RAM 16,0 GB (15,4 GB usable)
System type 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor

Windows details:
Edition Windows 10 Pro
Version 21H2
Installed on ‎2021/‎09/‎21
OS build 19044.1889
Experience Windows Feature Experience Pack 120.2212.4180.0

Where are you importing images from? From an internal drive or an external drive? If you are using Copy, Move, or Copy as DNG, what is the destination of the import? How many images are you trying to import at once?

 

What type of preview are you creating while importing images in File Handling?

Could you please share a screenshot of the import settings you are using? Have you tried any troubleshooting steps?

 

Try the import operation with the following suggestions:

  • Copy images on the internal drive manually using the File browser & use Add while importing images.
  • Disconnect any mobile devices & additional peripherals.
  • Try using embedded & sidecar or minimal when importing images.
