My PC was recently upgraded from Wndows 10 to 11 and most of the photos in my Catalog have disappeared.  Is there a way t retrieve them?

Most likely you've opened an older catalogue, Linda - images don't "disappear" from catalogues.

Thanks for your reply.. I hadn't created catalogs, so I would have thought all would be in the one I'm seeing.

I got this reply from someone who offered a LR course:, so I'm confused - I don't know LR as well as I'd like to but I have my photos in 3 places; Pictures, OneDrive and Data (D); -

Do you recall where the files were before the upgrade? Were they all in D. drive? If you open Lightroom, in the menu look for catalogue settings, when catalogue settings opens, it should show a location for your catalogue, which is generally in the same place you would import photos to...

The bad bit is that all of these settings can be custom - so if they were in your regular pictures folder created by windows, when your computer was upgraded, there is a good chance they were wiped. I'm hoping they were not - but it's a reality to consider 😞
