Adjusting photos

Hello Lightroom folks. I've just entered the Lightroom world. I've been using IMac photo. My question is, after uploading several photos of the same landscape shot at different exposures, are there better results adjusting a slightly underexposed or overexposed image using Lightroom? With Mac photo, it seemed to have better results with slightly underxposed images. Thanks for the information. Randy
