Adobe Lightroom not working

Adobe Lightroom is not working on my 2011 1.13.6 High Sierra Macbook Air. I was able to download it on the App Store, but every time I try to open Lightroom, it closes and disappears from my dock. I simply want to edit some photos, but I cannot. Please answer with a solution that might work.
