Are photos imported from lighroom classic permanently stored on the mobile device?

Hello, 
provided that Lightroom mobile on my mobile device is synced with 
Lightroom Classic on my desktop computer via the cloud. A synchronized collection 
has already been imported once. If I want to view the collection again, shoud it be downloaded 
again from the cloud?
