Background sync for Lr Android app?

Hi. I have notice that the LR app on Android only syncs when the app is open. I wonder whether is possible to sync in real time (like Google Photos).

Anyone knows if it is possible?

    any feedback on the above question?

     

    The Lightroom mobile app only syncs while in foreground - which means that I have to constantly use the app or deactivate any powersafing mechanisms for the upload to work. Which is insanely annoying. I was unable to find any options to change this behavior. Any hints or confirmation that this is the intended behavior?
