Question

Default crop ratio is now unlocked "user defined" instead of locked "original"?

I was used to hitting the crop tool and just select the crop I want, it was always a locked ratio with the format the photo provided.

Now its just free form. Since I'm used to the old system I grab the edge, adjust it, and wonder while its not keepin the ratio and the remember I have to switch to original ratio first.

Is there anyway I can make the "original" setting default again?

So it seems to be fixed now, even thought support told me its a design choice to have Android behave differently than any other version of Lightroom.

It still starts with unlocked custom crop, but when selecting a preset ratio it gets locked and the locked status is saved again.

Hi there,

Thanks for reaching out. I’ll need a little more information so that I can help you with this issue.

Could you please share the version of Adobe Lightroom  & the Operating System you are working on? Is it a specific collection or set of images where the Crop tool behaves like this right from the beginning, or were these images cropped or processed in Lightroom in the past?

Have you tried any troubleshooting steps?

Check this community thread for a similar fruitful discussion about the Crop tool where our Adobe Community Professional have contributed: https://community.adobe.com/t5/lightroom-classic-discussions/crop-ratio-constantly-changes-to-original-even-after-locked-to-custom-setting/td-p/9608462

We hope this helps,

Thanks!

The newest available version 7.3.0 (of course).

It happens with all photos, previously cropped or completely new importet or never touch photos, all have user defined and unlocked ratio as standard.

And it's the Android version, I had that stated in the topic, must have been edited out.
