Newbie question here.......why move from LR to PS to edit? Is LR mostly for organizing your photos?

This answer may not make a lot of sense to you, but I will try. Lightroom is a parametric editor. That means that the changes made using Lightroom really don't make any changes directly to the image file. They are stored in the Lightroom catalog. If you are really using the cloud version then there IS a catalog, you just don't have direct access to it like you do in Lightroom Classic. When you choose to edit the image in Photoshop then it's like you're able to take a knife and cut the image and make changes to it, creating a different image. Photoshop is capable of completely modifying the image, removing objects from it, replacing the sky, creating an image that wasn't there before. The next release of Lightroom and Lightroom Classic is going to have some masking features that is going to make it more powerful and make the parametric editing experience much more flexible, but it still isn't going to give the Lightroom tools that sharp "knife" that Photoshop has. Photoshop is the master tool if you need to make major changes to an image.
