How can I save the metadata of my edited images in Lightroom CC on the iPad or Mac?

Question

Until now, working with Lightroom Classic, I edited my RAW files and stored the metadata in the same folder as the original RAW, that way I had the image settings stored with the photographs.

I can't find a way to do it with Lightroom CC and the storage plans are limited so I can't have all my stock of single-year photographs in the cloud. The only solution I find is to export the files to .JPG in top quality and forget about having a RAW with its metadata next to it.

Does anyone know another better solution?

You don't understand how Lightroom works. What you did in Lightroom Classic is something extra. You don't have to save your metadata at all, because they are always and automatically saved in the catalog. Saving metadata to XMP is an extra option, not a requirement. Lightroom CC works the same way, except that it does not have this extra option because the original images are saved in the cloud. No need to do anything and no need to export jpegs to save edits.
