I can't import Sony ARW files into Lightroom.

I am getting error messsages when trying to import either JPEG or ARW files into Lightroom. I USED to be able to do it, but all of a suden, I can no longer do it. When researching this, there was a suggestion to restart Lightroom, which I have done SEVERAL times. It worked once before, but now it isn't. I shoot with a Sony AR7 iii and an A7R iii. I am using a Macbook Pro OS system. It is also up to date.
