Keywords on photos sent to PS, etc. come back to LR as orphans

I have not seen this glitch posted here.. When I take a photo from Lightroom via "Photo/Edit in.." to Photoshop or Topaz, etc., after finishing and returning to Lightroom, the keywords are no longer under the parent but are "orphans."  For example "Red Fox" comes back not under the parent "Mammals" but as a solitary keyword.  Any thoughts?  Thank you!
