Lightroom is impossibly slow

Lightroom takes several minutes to perform almost any task on my pc or my laptop.  I have top of the line machines for both, so there is no excuse for this.  Originals are kept on a NAS for the PC, but it's just as slow when I turn off the option to keep originals.  The Laptop never has kept originals.

Lightroom Classic runs fine on the PC.

 

Any suggestions?  The program is simply unusable as it is.  I'd give up and go with another product if there was anything comperable.  I may anyhow.

I've been having this issue as well! I can't seem to do any sort of task fast like I used to. It runs extremely slow!

I have exactly the same issue.

This is totally nuts - It's easier to manage photos on my Android phone than on my 64GM 3 GHz i7 PC!!

I'm on the verge of jumping ship but I don't have an alternative to jump to yet

My problem was that I tried to use a NAS drive as the local storage.

Adobe doesn’t warn you, but doing that will corrupt some files. You

can’t fix it yourself, you need to get tech support and even they have

trouble correcting it. Deleting and reinstalling the application does

not fix the problem because the affected files are not deleted using

that process.
