Old Photo restore black and white

Question

Restoring family albums and help is appreciated.  One of these is from 1972 and the other from 1954.  I would like to be able to enlarge them and frame eventually.  Dont know where to start.

I don't know what you are expecting to get out of these images. I played around with one of them a little bit. Admittedly, I didn't devote a lot of time to taking a lot of the scratches out of the sky, you could spend a lot of time doing that if you really felt the necessity to do that. This is what I was able to do in a few minutes. And, it is possible to run the JPEG through super enhance to enlarge the image. There is obviously more that could be done with spot removal. What is it you are expecting to accomplish?
